Big Bang Solo T Tourbillon
Back to Basics: Purity, Simplicity, Beauty are the key words for Hublot's very first Tourbillon.
"SOLO T" is the purest Tourbillon ever presented, combining the noblest new materials with the latest state-of-the-art technologies, thus confirming Hublot's new guiding principle: the Fusion of Traditional horology with one of the most challenging complications and the Visionary Art of 21st century Watchmaking. This is notably achieved through an interpretation of the top side of the bottom plate, which recaptures the aesthetics of ultimate cutting-edge techniques inspired by the printed circuit. The outstanding "SOLO T" Tourbillon is an exclusive flying Tourbillon measuring 13 1/4 Parisian lines, 30 mm in diameter, housed in a 13 mm diameter cage without ball bearing and raised 2.80 mm above the bottom plate. This tremendous feat of watchmaking engineering creates the illusion that the "SOLO T" Tourbillon is suspended in mid-air, hence the term 'flying', and, for the first time, is open to view on all sides, including laterally. It also comprises a Gyromax type balance spring with gold regulating inertia-blocks and has a power reserve of over 120 hours. It is fitted with 24 rubies and in the white gold version, the bottom side of the plate is finished to resemble a printed circuit board in gold on black lacquered bridges. Hublot has chosen a totally minimalist dial with Clou de Paris decoration in order to show this remarkable Tourbillon to great advantage.
Months upon months of the most demanding technical research have gone into the making of this traditional Tourbillon with a futuristic look. Its innovative design in the technical and mechanical field of watchmaking make it the pride of Hublot's master watchmakers.
The Tourbillon is one of the most complex complications to produce. Invented in 1801, it was originally designed to increase the accuracy of watches. Its function was to eliminate errors of rate with the escapement in the vertical positions. The Tourbillon's mobile carriage, containing the balance and escapement, made one revolution per minute, thereby compensating for rate variations. This great feat of technical achievement stands testimony to the most advanced watchmaking techniques much sought after by avid watch collectors.
The Limited Edition "SOLO T" Tourbillon is also available in a second version in 18K rose gold with an exclusive white lacquered bridge.
The Hublot "SOLO T" Tourbillon, sporting the new Hublot deployant clasp and a new crocodile strap, is now made adjustable to adapt instantly to different wrist sizes, with no loss of the timekeeper's essential comfort or ultra-functionality. Technical Details
